Andromeda necklace with iridescent blue art glass heart
The Milky Way’s nearest neighbor is Andromeda, a spiral galaxy 2.5 million light years away. I saw it once, years ago, on an astronomy class field trip to the mountains above Santa Barbara.
It’s rare now to find skies so clear, but this necklace captures some of that celestial magic. An iridescent blue art glass bead shimmers with deep shades of blue, green, and purple. Shaped like a heart, with a spiral at its tip, it hangs from a handmade silver pendant — also heart-shaped with little spirals. The 18-inch sterling chain is rolo style, sturdy without being heavy.
